Andy Ruiz Jr has blasted Tyson Fury’s claim to the heavyweight throne after hearing the ‘Gypsy King’ mock him as a ‘little fat f***er.’
Fury insists he remains atop the heavyweight division as he is the ‘lineal’ champion, yet to be beaten in the ring since defeating Wladimir Klitschko.
However, Ruiz Jr – who holds the WBA, IBF and WBO titles – believes it’s all about the belts and branded his rival’s title ‘imaginary.’
During Saturday night’s TV broadcast of Pacquiao vs Thurman, the Mexican-American shared a joint interview with WBC champion Deontay Wilder and later tweeted a picture of the pair together.
He captioned it: “Two champions holding all the belts in heavyweight boxing.”
A jokey reply from a fan asked: “What about the invisible belt Fury has?”
To which Ruiz responded: “I can’t forget his imaginary belt.”
Earlier this month, the Brit ripped into the new champion after hearing that he was not happy with a joke he made on social media.
When it was announced that Ruiz would be replacing Jarrell Miller to fight Anthony Joshua, Fury reacted by reposting a meme onto his Instagram story which featured a picture of Ruiz Jr alongside animated character Russell from the 2009 Disney movie ‘Up.’
Ruiz seemed less than pleased, and Fury told Behind The Gloves: “He can take it however he wants, the little fat f****r.
“Andy Ruiz, if you want a slap, you can have one and all, because I ain’t bothered about you fatso.
“I’ll hit him up the body and make him spew marshmallows for a month.”
