The new date for the all-British heavyweight blockbuster between Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce has been confirmed.

Dubois is one of British boxing’s hottest prospects and boasts an impressive record of 15 straight wins.

He dispatched of Japan’s Kyotaro Fujimoto last December but is now set for the biggest test of his fledgling professional career when he takes on fellow Brit Joyce.

The 35-year-old is also undefeated and claimed big wins over Bermane Stiverne, Alexander Ustinov and Bryant Jennings in 2019.

The fight has been confirmed but British boxing fans have faced a lengthy wait for the action due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Both men have been in the ring prior to their eagerly-waited clash to have tune up bouts over the summer.

Dubois claimed an easy win over Ricardo Snijders in late August after Joyce took out Michael Wallisch at the BT Sport Studios in July.

Dubois and Joyce were originally slated to go head-to-head at London’s O2 Arena on April 11 but that date has had to be changed.

Rearranged dates of July 11 and October 24 also had to be scrapped due to the pandemic.

The pair are now set to face off in the rescheduled date of Saturday, November 28 but no venue has been confirmed as of yet.

Promoter Frank Warren said: “Dubois versus Joyce is the best fight on the British boxing calendar and I want this to be something as many people as possible can enjoy.

“It’s a bonus that the added exposure gained from the fight will really help the boxers as they move forward with their careers.

“Above all, this is about making sure that the fans are looked after and this fight will be available to BT Sport subscribers.

“Queensberry and BT Sport are looking forward to delivering a huge night of boxing, so let’s make sure the eyes of the country, and the world, are on British boxing come November 28th.

“I owe a huge debt of gratitude to BT Sport for being willing to make this happen.

“I sound like a broken record I’m sure, but sometimes you have to put the sport and the fans first. Queensberry gets that and BT Sport gets that. ‘For the fans’, it’s what it’s all about.”

Dubois said: “I’ll be ready to go for sure.

“It has been tough during lockdown, but I have ticked over and I’m back in the Peacock gym helping my sparring partners.

“Hopefully in the near future I will be able to get some good overseas sparring in. I’ll be ready, so I hope Joe is coming prepared.”

And Joyce added: “It was great news to get the new date so I can finally punch up Dubois.

“Obviously once lockdown started I had a good idea we wouldn’t meet in July, but I was always staying on top of training.

“Now gyms are open for athletes I can kick on and just keep my focus on the new date, finally settling the score with Dubois and moving on to a world title fight.”

Dubois vs Joyce: Undercard

On the undercard, Hamzah Sheeraz (11-0-0, 7KO’s) will defend his WBO European super-welterweight title agains Guido Nicolas Pitto (26-7-2, 8KO’s).

Jack Catterall (25-0-0, 13KO’s) will take on Abderrazak Houya (14-2-0, 2KO’s) in a 10 round super-lightweight contest, while David Adeleye faces Danny Whittaker (4-1-0) in a heavyweight showdown.
