It looks like David Price could be headed back to the injured list.
The Boston Red Sox left-hander left the game in the first inning after facing just three batters and throwing 15 pitches.
According to NESN, Price appeared to wince after throwing a pitch at one point, prompting manager Alex Cora to get Colten Brewer going in the bullpen, and the right-hander came in soon after.
This is a concerning sign for the Red Sox because Price was on the injured list from May 3-20 with an elbow issue. Though no diagnosis has been given, other pitchers’ elbow injuries have led to Tommy John surgery, so Boston made the right move in not pushing Price through this outing.
Price returned on Monday to face the Blue Jays in Toronto and threw 67 pitches over five innings and gave up two unearned runs. He is 2-2 with a 3.24 ERA this season.
