Next week will see a busy period for European Athletics’ decision makers with the Executive Board scheduled to meet online on Tuesday (10) morning followed by three-day Council meeting which will held from Tuesday afternoon until Thursday 12 November.
The biggest decision at the 160th European Athletics Council Meeting will be the awarding of the 2024 European Athletics Championships on Tuesday evening. The candidates are Roma (ITA) and Katowice-Silesia (POL).
Host venues are also expected to be announced for the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships and 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships during the following days.
Candidates for all the European Athletics events to be allocated next week will have the opportunity to make online presentations supporting their bids during the Council meeting.
Updates will be given on preparations for other future European Athletics events, including the Torun 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships (scheduled to take place 5-7 March 2021) and Munich 2022 European Athletics Championships (scheduled to take place from 15-21 August 2022).
Presentations from various European Athletics Commissions and Advisory Groups, as well as the Athletes Committee, will also be given and there will be reports on European Athletics’ financial position, including the 2021 budget and 2020-23 financial plan.
