A minibus slid 20 meters down a mountain slope in eastern Japan on Friday, injuring more than 10 passengers, police said.

The bus, carrying tourists aged over 50 years old who came to climb Mt. Eboshidake, started moving while the driver was outside around 2:50 p.m. after it was stationed in a parking lot at the trail entrance in the village of Nanmoku, Gunma Prefecture, according to the police.

Four people are believed to have suffered serious injuries and 10 light injuries, the police said, adding all were conscious.

The mountain is popular with tourists around this time of the year when pink azaleas are in full bloom.
