Tributes, memories, and kind words have been pouring out via social media from fans, friends, and collaborators of SOPHIE.
Artists are remembering her as a visionary and a pioneer in pop music.
Sophie was a stellar producer, a visionary, a reference. She rebelled against the narrow, normative society by being an absolute triumph, both as an artist and as a woman. I can’t believe she is gone. We need to honor and respect her memory and legacy. Cherish the pioneers. pic.twitter.com/3kyRl1KabY

I’ll never forget seeing Sophie live in 2016 after moving away from home. I felt safe and at home in the music; looking back Sophie’s music was a foundation to my trans identity. You will be remembered angel rip
