Look, not everyone’s faves can make it to the Hottest 100 countdown. So, while that annoying friend that got all their votes in the countdown rubs salt in your wounds (there’s always one), pay attention because Triple J‘s Hottest 200 is your friend.

triple j will today be counting down the 100 songs that were pipped at the post, and because 2018 was absolutely stacked, you can expect some bloody bangers.

ICYMI, the number one spot on the Hottest 100 was taken out by Ocean Alley with their funky chill-banger ‘Confidence’.

The Sydney groovers also bagged the #10 place with ‘Knees’, with the rest of the top 10 rounded out by Ruby Fields’ nostalgic tearjerker ‘Dinosaurs’ at #9, Billie Eilish’s ‘when the party’s over’ at #8, Mallrat’s ‘Groceries’ at #7, Dean Lewis’s ‘Be Alright’ at #6, Amy Shark’s ‘I Said Hi’ at #5, Childish Gambino’s ‘This Is America’ at #4, Travis Scott making his Hottest 100 debut with ‘SICKO MODE’ at #3 and Fisher’s club banger ‘Losing It’ at #2.

The countdown was bloody stacked with homegrown heroes, with 65 artists managing to make a spot on the big list (FYI Ocean Alley hogged a total four of those).

Last year’s countdown also sported a whole bunch of fan faves and “how did this miss-out?!” like Frank Ocean’s ‘Chanel’ and Stella Donnelly’s ‘Boys Will Be Boys’ which took the #101 and #102 spot respectively.

So sip that Gatorade, nurse your hangover and enjoy this Monday off as we give you all the updates on triple j‘s Hottest 200 of 2018.
