When they met in the ring in 2018, Irishman McDonagh retired before the start of the fourth round, citing a shoulder injury as the reason for the fight’s conclusion.

The Brit made his feelings clear in ITV post-fight interview, which almost led to a second scrap between the pair.

Eubank Jr stated: “He says it’s his right shoulder. I’m not convinced, but it is what it is.

“This was my opportunity to shake off some ring rust, it was good while it lasted but the going was too tough for him and he quit.”
