Chris Eubank Jr and JJ McDonagh produced more entertainment in their post-fight interview than they did in their actual boxing match.
When they met in the ring in 2018, Irishman McDonagh retired before the start of the fourth round, citing a shoulder injury as the reason for the fight’s conclusion.
However, Eubank Jr didn’t believe his opponent and instead declared that he ‘quit’ after being knocked down in the first round.
The Brit made his feelings clear in ITV post-fight interview, which almost led to a second scrap between the pair.
Eubank Jr stated: “He says it’s his right shoulder. I’m not convinced, but it is what it is.
“This was my opportunity to shake off some ring rust, it was good while it lasted but the going was too tough for him and he quit.”
McDonagh was then brought in and explained: “I had a bad shoulder injury, I took the fight, I knew he’s a great boxer. If I was able to fight on, I would…
